Regular Walmart shoppers in Marietta may never have to set foot inside the store again when online grocery shopping is rolled out in the metro Atlanta market next month.
Starting Oct. 13, Walmart’s massively popular Walmart Grocery program comes online in metro Atlanta, allowing shoppers to select what they need from the comfort of home or from a smart phone, pick a time to get their goods, and have the items hand delivered to their cars by Walmart associates at no extra charge.

“This new, easy shopping experience is an innovation that’s helpful for anyone with a busy schedule – particularly moms with small children,” Walmart says in a statement. “They can shop online and choose the pickup time that works for them, and they never have to unbuckle anyone’s seat belt.”
The Walmart Supercenter on Chastain Meadows Parkway is among the four metro Atlanta stores serving as test beds for the new program, a Walmart spokeswoman confirmed to Patch on Wednesday. Other Walmart Supercenters participating in the program are located in Alpharetta and Roswell, she added.
