Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

1. This weekend is packed with fun and festive things to do in and around Marietta, and this list is a great way to get started! There will be delicious meals, tasty treats, and tons of shopping opportunities in the area. 2. An altercation at a Marietta Walmart has resulted in the death of one person. Just before noon on Wednesday, the Cobb County Police Department was called to the Walmart on Chastain Meadows Parkway. There, they found two groups of people involved in a heated altercation. During the shooting, 23-year-old Eddie Figueroa was killed. The investigation is ongoing, and several suspects have been identified. (WSB Atlanta)
3. The Marietta Center for Advanced Academics has added three new educational partners. Vanderlande, TK Elevators, and Progress STEM have joined up with MCAA teachers to provide students with new learning opportunities. They hope to help the students learn to use their skills in real-world scenarios to help them expand their knowledge base. (Marietta City Schools via Facebook)
