Woman Charged with Mom's Murder

Marietta resident Melissa Blue, 49, faces a murder charge after her 80-year-old mother died this weekend at .

Evelyn Blue was rushed to the hospital about 3 a.m. Thursday after found her in a room at the at 2375 Delk Rd., just inside the city limits east of Interstate 75.

Melissa Blue was charged with felony cruelty to someone 65 or older and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bond.

After her mother died Sunday morning, as reported by 11 Alive and Fox 5, the charge of felony murder was added that day, records show.

Blue now is being held without bond.

Blue had declined maid service during the family's extended stay at the motel, and the resulting filth in the room was so bad that emergency crews and investigators wore masks and footies at the scene, Fox 5 reported.
