Woman Dies In Head-On Collision In Marietta: Police

MARIETTA, GA -- A Roswell woman was killed Friday afternoon in a head-on crash on Post Oak Tritt Road near Walden Lane in Marietta, police said. Marietta police are investigating the crash.

Police have identified the deceased as 75-year old Jacqueline M. Frankum. Authorities said Frankum, who was traveling west in a white 2005 Lexus LS430, switched on the wrong side of the road to pass another vehicle on Post Oak Tritt, police spokeswoman Alicia Chilton said. Heading east on Post Oak Tritt in a white 2005 Ford F750 flatbed truck was Gregg A. Morgan, 40, of Woodstock, police said. Frankum's Lexus collided head-on with Morgan's Ford F750, police said.

Frankum was declared dead at the scene of the crash, Marietta police said. Morgan was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the crash.

Marietta police said that no charges are expected to be filed in the crash, which remains under investigation.
