Woman Faces Arson Charge For Cumberland Apartment Fire: Cobb FD

A Marietta woman faces a first degree arson charge in connection with an apartment fire in the Cumberland area earlier this week.

COBB COUNTY, GA — A Marietta woman is accused of setting fire to an apartment building in the Cumberland area earlier this week, and she's been charged with arson, according to Cobb fire investigators.

Chouzzare Edmond, 23, was arrested in connection with a Sunday fire that broke out at the Rockledge Apartments on Powers Ferry Road around 7:30 a.m. Upon arriving to the scene Sunday, fire investigators determined that the fire had been intentionally set beneath the stairs to the building, according to a news release.

Edmond was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with first degree arson, a felony. Edmond is being held in the Cobb County jail without bond. The department did not clarify how they connected Edmond to the fire.
