Georgia Tech Students Robbed At Gunpoint: Report

Seven Georgia Tech students were robbed at gunpoint Sunday, according to news reports.

ATLANTA, GA -- A group of Georgia Tech students said they were held up by gunmen Sunday, according to news reports. The incident happened near the campus on Mecaslin Street close to 14th Street, local media reported.

The incident adds to a handful of robberies of students reported in recent weeks in Midtown and downtown Atlanta.

In the latest incident, seven students told police that two gunmen approached them on the street while another man was seen nearby in a car, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The thieves got awaywith some cellphones, keys, credit cards and IDs, the newspaper reports.

The perpetrators got away in dark-colored sedan, police said. They were described as three black males; one with dreadlocks and another wearing a purple shirt, WXIA-TV reports.
