New Apartments, Retail Planned for Old Fourth Ward: Report
Crescent O4W will take the place of 525 North project, according to reports.
MIDTOWN, GA -- Out with the offices, in with the occupants. A plan to build swanky commercial space on North Avenue in Old Fourth Ward has been scrapped to make way for new apartments, Patch has learned.
The 525 North project, a large glass-and-terracotta stone structure with street-level retail, was hailed when it was announced a couple years back but it hit zoning snags that delayed it. Now the project is off, according to news reports.
In its place will rise "Crescent O4W," a mixed-use development that will feature 240 apartments over five stories, Curbed Atlanta reports. Retail space will also be part of the project although it is unclear how much space will be devoted to businesses.
