‘No2 Opus Place’ to be Tallest Condo in Atlanta, Developers Say

Building will rise 53 stories after firm revises height to shed 21 floors.

ATLANTA, GA -- Midtown is slated to get the tallest residential space in Atlanta, according to the developers of "No2 Opus Place," a 53-story tower that was announced last fall.

Original plans for a 74-story building, which would have made the 14th Street site, the tallest building, regardless of use, in the city. Now, the structure has been revised to shed 21 floors, the developers said Tuesday.

Perkins + Will is the firm behind the project's design.

“While the project was initially slated to be taller, due to the strength of the Atlanta condominium market ownership elected to build a world-class residence that was exclusive to buyers, without a hotel component, and in doing so reduce the height of the tower,” said Kerman Haynes, vice president of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties’ CITY HAUS Division.

The development is not the only high-rise planned for Midtown. Apogee Midtown, a 39-story tower, is set to rise at 14th and West Peachtree streets. Another project, Apogee Buckhead, coming to the corner of Ga. Highway 400 and Peachtree Road.

Haynes said fewer units will facilitate more features for the property, which will span across four acres.

“The move also enabled the developer to offer more services and amenities while lowering the monthly common charges,” said Haynes.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties’ CITY HAUS Division will handle the marketing and sales for the condos.

The No2 Opus Place plans, which were announced last November, called for a mixed-use space featuring 400 condo units and 60,000 square feet of retail.
