Florida-Georgia Line Breaks 69-Year Record

Debut song "Cruise" has been at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart for 22 weeks.

Country Duo Florida Georgia Line, with Monroe hometown boy Tyler Hubbard, this week broke a 69-year record with its debut song, “Cruise.” 

The song hit 22 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart.

According to Country Standard Time, last week the duo of Hubbard and Brian Kelley, of Ormond Beach, Fla., held a four-way tie for 21-weeks at No. 1 with Webb Pierce's In the Jailhouse Now (1955), Hank Snow's I'm Moving On (1950-51) and Eddy Arnold's I'll Hold You in My Heart (Till I Can Hold You in My Arms) (1947-48).

This week, “Cruise” surfaced for a 22nd week in the top spot, giving Florida-Georgia Line the record all on their own. Country Standard time reports that the song has sold more than 5 million downloads and is the third-best selling country digital song ever. The duo has been selling out shows all over the country, sometimes in a little as five minutes after tickets went on sale.

Florida Georgia Line Currently has three songs in the top 25 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart – Cruise at No. 1, Round Here (filmed in part in part right here in Hubbard’s hometown) at No. 6 and Get Your Shine On at No. 22. They also have made a remix of Cruise featuring rapper Nelly.
