Georgia Department Of Education Announces 2023 AP Honor Schools
Loganville High, Monroe Area High and Walnut Grove High Schools made the list.

The Georgia Department of Education and State Superintendent Richard Woods named Loganville High, Monroe Area High and Walnut Grove High Schools 2023 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools.

“I congratulate all three of our high schools for once again being recognized at the state level for outstanding Advanced Placement programs,” said Superintendent Nathan Franklin. “I am proud of our students' continued success in accelerated coursework and commend our teachers and coordinators for their hard work in helping ensure our students are prepared for college and career opportunities after graduation.”
Based on the AP exam performance of last year’s graduates, 273 schools from 97 school districts were recognized as AP Honor Schools in 2023. College Board’s AP program allows students to challenge themselves while exploring their interests and earning college credit through rigorous college-level work while in high school.

AP Honor School Recognitions
AP Access and Support Schools (80 schools recognized) - Monroe Area High School
Schools with at least 30% of AP exams taken by students who identified as African American and/or Hispanic and 30% of all AP exams earning scores of 3 or higher.
AP Expansion Schools (84 schools recognized) - Monroe Area High School
AP schools with 25% growth in AP student participation from May 2021 to May 2022 and a minimum of 25 students testing in May 2020.
AP Humanities School (84 schools recognized) – Walnut Grove High School
Schools with a minimum of five students testing in each of the following AP categories: one ELA course, two history/social science courses, one fine arts course and one world language course.
AP Humanities Achievement School (67 schools recognized) – Walnut Grove High School
AP Humanities schools with at least 50% percent of all AP Humanities exams earning scores of three or higher
AP STEM Schools (187 schools recognized) – Loganville and Walnut Grove High Schools
Schools with a minimum of five students testing in at least four AP STEM courses. (AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles)
AP STEM Achievement Schools (110 schools recognized) – Loganville High School
AP STEM schools with at least 50% of all AP STEM exams earning scores of 3 or higher.
