Scholarship open to students in Rockdale, Newton and Walton Counties
COVINGTON, GA – Four local bar associations have come together to create a new scholarship for graduating high school seniors in Rockdale, Newton and Walton Counties.
The Beyond the Bar Scholarship is now accepting applications from students living in any of those three counties.
The Beyond the Bar Scholarship Foundation is a collaborative effort between the New Rock Legal Society, Newton County Bar Association, Rockdale County Bar Association and Walton County Bar Association to help students further their education at an accredited college or technical school.

“We thought it was important to come together to help support our local youth,” said Cheveda McCamy, the foundation’s president. “As a mother of two teens, I know that every dollar counts when paying for college. Grants and scholarships, in any amount, are extremely beneficial to the students and their families. As local lawyers, we should be giving back to our communities both in and outside of the courtroom.”
The scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside in and attend a public or private school in Rockdale, Newton or Walton Counties.
