• Driver accused of being on drugs after driving into and destroying Walton County home, displacing renters (11alive.com) — A Monroe family is scrambling for housing after an SUV crashed into and severely damaged their Broad Street rental home, displacing four residents and destroying treasured belongings. Monroe Police say the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug impairment, while Georgia State Patrol continues the investigation. The renters, who lacked insurance, are relying on Red Cross assistance and community donations to start over. 
• MPD announce arrest of alleged armed robber (monroelocal.org) — Monroe Police say a 25-year-old local man was quickly arrested after an alleged armed robbery at the Family Dollar on West Spring Street, with no injuries reported. Officers apprehended the suspect within eight minutes of the 911 call, and investigators plan to release more details as the case continues. Remember, an arrest or charge does not equal a conviction.
