Walton County Planning Commission Member Passes Away Unexpectedly

Kurt Stewart Hansen, 51, died Sunday at his Loganville home.

Kurt Stewart Hansen, age 51, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 22, at his home in Loganville.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Loganville. The family will be hosting a reception at the Hansen residence following the service til 8 p.m.  

Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Sharon Hansen, three children, Hans Hansen, T. Jaye Dumas (Alex), and Grace McCurry, mother, Peggy Hansen and brothers, Andy (Sheila, Austin, Colleen) and Chris (Mona, Christian, Maddox).  

He was a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and was currently practicing at the Loganville Kroger. He was an active Loganville Rotarian and helped establish their club foundation.

His No. 1 priority in life was his family. Although his vocation remained constant, his avocation changed constantly. His titles included the Punniest Man in Walton County, Champion of Magic the Gathering, King Llama, Landscape Guru, Builder of the Great Wall of Loganville, Bane of Squirrels, Hound Wrangler, Destroyer of Bobcats, Amateur Professional Programmer, Self-Taught Musician, Avid Outdoorsman, baker of bread, maker of beer, potential vintner, World Creator and Dungeon Master. Your influence is far reaching and you will be in our hearts forever.
