First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of its Epiphany program, a faith-based social entrepreneurship incubator supporting startups tackling today’s most pressing challenges. Epiphany is an evergreen initiative that equips entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to social issues with funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance. If you are an emerging founder with a vision to address societal challenges often overlooked by traditional markets, Epiphany offers the resources needed to help your venture grow. Examples of qualifying ventures include businesses that employ formerly incarcerated individuals or adults with developmental challenges, as well as enterprises offering services such as coding training for refugees or mechanical skills development in low-income communities. Since its launch, Epiphany has awarded nearly half a million dollars in grants and supported multiple successful ventures, including Refuge Coffee Co., PadSplit, and Purposeful Gourmet Foods. An elderly woman was robbed outside a Northlake deli Monday evening, DeKalb County police said. The 75-year-old Atlanta woman had just placed food from Jason's Deli, 4073 Lavista Rd., on the floor of the front passenger's side of her car and was getting into the driver's seat when a man hopped into the back seat just after 6pm, the police report said. The man put an unknown object to the victim's neck and demanded money. The woman gave him $80. The suspect then demanded she drive to an ATM to get more money, the report said. As the car approached Weems Road, the victim told the suspect she didn't have an ATM card or more money with her. They were approaching the nearby Movie Tavern when the suspect noticed a police car, hopped out and ran into the woods near I-285. The woman was not injured, and she could not provide police with a detailed description of the suspect.
