Family Dollar Armed Robbery: Leave the Diapers, Take the Cash

More than $1,400 was stolen from the North Decatur store Sunday night.

An armed robber held up the Family Dollar in North Decatur on Sunday night, demanding money and diapers before fleeing, DeKalb County police said.

The suspect walked into the store at 2615 North Decatur Road just before 8 p.m. and approached a clerk with his hands in his pockets, the police report said. He grabbed the clerk, and she told police she saw a black handgun in his waistband or pocket.

"Come over here," the suspect said, pushing her toward the front of the store. "Get all the money out the safe."
