3 Accused Of Stealing Mail Face Charges In Peachtree Corners

A camera captured at least one of the suspects near the mailboxes of a Peachtree Corners neighborhood, police said.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — Three suspected mail thieves are now facing multiple charges after Gwinnett County Police said they were caught stealing mail from apartment mailboxes.

Police on Tuesday said officers were dispatched around 7 a.m., March 1, to a Peachtree Corners neighborhood after a camera captured at least one of the suspects near the mailboxes.

A man was found in front of the mailboxes with several pieces of mail on the ground, police said. The door to the mailbox building had been damaged, police said.

Officers entered the building, where they found a second man, police said. They added a third man remained inside the vehicle.

Police have charged Brandon Wyche, 32, of Barnesville, Duane Keith, 26, of Stockbridge and Demontre Shavers, 32, of Lithia Springs were charged on suspicion of burglary, financial transaction card theft, theft by possession of stolen mail, VGCSA possession of narcotics, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and loitering and prowling, police said.
