Accused Robbers Shot By Victims, Arrested: Police

Detectives say they believe the robbery may have been drug-related.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — Two men were shot while attempting to rob a Peachtree Corners resident, according to a release from Gwinnett County. It was around 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 20 when police were notified about a person shot in the 3100 block of Terrace Court.

The caller told police that two men had broken into his home and he shot them, the release says.

When police arrived, they found one suspect near the entrance to the complex and took him into custody. Another suspect was driving off in Dodge Challenger. The Challenger, later found, was reported stolen from South Fulton on Aug. 19, police say.

Police said according to their investigation, two men were inside the home hanging out when the two suspects burst in through the front door, which was unlocked. During the ensuing struggle, Antonio Nix, 19, of Covington, was shot by one of the victims, police say. Nix was armed at the time, the release says.

Detectives learned that Nix was being treated at Grady Hospital in Atlanta for gunshot wounds.

Nix and the other suspect, a 16-year-old, have since been charged with one count of armed robbery each.

Police found drug-related objects in the home, according to the release. They believe the crime may have been drug-related and that the suspects and victims may have known each other prior to the alleged crime.
