GA Gas Gauge: Prices Creep Up, But Only Temporarily
See how low prices are in Peachtree Corners with our interactive gas tool and map.

The long streak of declining gas prices in Georgia ended last week, but AAA says it’s only temporary.
“Motorists saw gas prices inch up last week, but this trend should not continue long,” spokesman Mark Jenkins said in AAA’s weekly gas price briefing. “Prices rose because gasoline demand remains elevated at a time when supplies are reduced as refineries enter their routine maintenance season. Price declines could stall over the next month, but should continue creeping lower through the end of the year.”

In Georgia, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.15 as of Sunday, up 2 cents from the previous week.
Despite the up-tick, prices at the pump are still quite low, largely due to the relatively low price of crude oil. The average per-gallon price was $2.34 a month ago in Georgia, and $3.30 this time last year.
