Gwinnett Arson Suspect Arrested, Charged
Clifford David Malone has been charged with first-degree arson (a felony) in connection with the Oct. 18 fire on Amelia Garden Way.

A Gwinnett County man wanted for an October arson fire at a Lawrenceville-area home has been arrested, according to Gwinnett Fire officials.
Clifford David Malone, 65, has been charged with first-degree arson (a felony) in connection with the Oct. 18 fire on Amelia Garden Way. Malone was apprehended by Gwinnett sheriff’s deputies on Monday. He is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail.
Authorities say Malone is the same man who fire investigators spoke with during a traffic stop shortly after the fire.

Fire investigators have not released specific info on motive or how the fire was started.
Arson is punishable by 1 to 20 years in prison.

Deputies and Fire Investigators had been looking for Malone since Oct. 19, when the original warrant was taken.
The case has been handed over to the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office.
