Gwinnett County Police Investigating Fatal Apartment Shooting

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA—Police with the Gwinnett County Police Department say they are investigating a fatal shooting in Peachtree Corners that occurred Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened on Ashley Lakes Drive in Peachtree Corners just after 12 p.m. Friday, they say.

Officers say they were dispatched to the scene after receiving a 911 call alerting them that a male had been shot inside one of the apartments.

When officers arrived, they say located a deceased man in the 700 building of the complex.

Detectives responded to the scene to collect evidence and speak with witnesses, police said.

At this time, detectives believe that the victim was familiar with the suspect. There is no description of the suspect.

Police said information on the victim will be held until the next of kin is notified.
