Gwinnett Middle School Instructor Jailed for Alleged Sexual Assault

According to reports he allegedly made physical contact with a former student.

A Gwinnett County middle school teacher is behind bars, charged with sexual assault and sexual battery, according to reports.

James Everette Buckland was being held without bond Thursday morning in the Gwinnett County Jail. Jail records list him as a Loganville resident.

Citing the school’s website, Buckland is a Junior Leadership Corps instructor at Summerour Middle School near Norcross. WSB-TV reported the arrest is connected to a Sept. 15 incident, during which he allegedly made physical contact with a former student.

Gwinnett County Schools said Buckland resigned his position on Oct. 1.

Buckland was booked into the county jail at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, according to jail records.
