Murder Suspect Surrenders In Peachtree Corners Hotel Shooting
Gwinnett County Police said the man surrendered Sunday in connection with the Sept. 5 shooting death of a 28-year-old at Jimmy Carter Blvd.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — The accused gunman in the Sept. 5 fatal shooting of 28-year-old Dareese Ellis has surrendered, Gwinnett County Police said Tuesday.
Police said Jay Dante Crump, 21, surrendered Sunday to the Gwinnett County Jail. Crump is being charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, felony murder and possession of a firearm during a felony, police said. Jail records show Crump remained in custody Tuesday.
Officers responded around 5:45 p.m. to a Jimmy Carter hotel, where they found a man dead from a gunshot wound. Ellis and Crump were staying at the hotel when the shooting happened, police said. Ellis was from Peachtree Corners.
