Peachtree Corners Extends Popular Recycling/Shredding Event

“We were surprised by the very strong interest, and we are happy to be able to extend the chance for our residents to recycle paper and electronics they no longer need,” said Mayor Mike Mason.
New Dates: Saturday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 24.
New Times: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (noon)
New Location: City Hall, 147 Technology Parkway, Suite 200

Shredding Event
ProShred Security will have its on-site shred truck for all paper materials. This service is free. Limited to five (5) medium size boxes or equivalent.
What can be shred:
- Anything made of paper or paperboard. No need to remove:
- Staples
- Paper clips
- Binder clips
- Hanging folders (with metal strips)
- Manila folders
- Paperboard legal binders
- Spiral notebook binders
- Thin plastic sheet protectors
- Books
- What cannot be shred:
- Things that may harm the shred truck.
- Must remove in advance
- Any 3-ring binders
- Anything made of hard plastic (such as CD cases or plastic folders)
- Any office supplies (pens, staplers, etc.)
- Computer cables
- Old cell phones
- Batteries (highly combustible)
- Food or other garbage
Electronics Recycling eWaste-ePlanet will be on site to help you recycle those unwanted electronic devices. This service is free except for televisions and CRT monitors with picture tubes. There will be a $10 charge for these items.
ProShred cannot shred any container not made of paper (paper shopping bags are OK), nor does it have a way of disposing of bags or boxes. Personnel will empty and return any boxes, plastic bags or bins used to transport documents to the event.
Please note: eWaste cannot accept console or projection televisions or batteries that are leaking.
