Peachtree Corners To Monitor Traffic, Provide Alerts
The city of Peachtree Corners is partnering with Waze, a smartphone app that monitors traffic in real time in order to provide alerts.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — The city of Peachtree Corners is partnering with Waze, a smartphone app that monitors traffic in real time, to help alert motorists traveling in Peachtree Corners with traffic alerts and road-construction news to help reduce traffic congestion.
Under Waze’s Connected Citizens Program, Peachtree Corners can add planned road closures, construction and even major event information into the smartphone app to help Waze provide its users with warnings of traffic jams and road hazards on their route. The smartphone app is available for download: iPhone uses may find the app via the App Store and on the Play Store for Android phones.
The City can also utilize Waze’s push notifications to send out warnings and traffic alerts. The alerts, which are created by the users, are then used by the city for faster response time to traffic and road issues. Additionally, the traffic data will expand the city’s ability to monitor traffic.
