Should Reporter Be Forced to Reveal Sources?
A judge will decide whether a Fox News reporter should reveal how she found out about a notebook that Colorado gunman James Holmes allegedly sent to a university psychiatrist prior to the Aurora theater massacre.

Fox News reporter Jana Winter is facing possible jail time if she does not reveal a source for a story that recently appeared on FoxNew.com.
This is related to a story she wrote giving information about a notebook the Colorado gunman, James Holmes, allegedly sent to a University of Colorado psychiatrist prior to the Aurora movie theater shootings.
According to Fox News, the notebook was given to Colorado police a month before the attack. It is reported to have revealed that Holmes was having homicidal thoughts and could be a danger to the public at large.

His defense is pushing to have Winter reveal where she got this information. A judge was expected to rule Wednesday on whether or not the journalist has to reveal this information or risk going to jail. The decision by the judge has been delayed, but is still pending.
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What do you think? Should Winter be forced to reveal her source? Or would it be a violation of the First Amendment and risk setting a precedent that could have a negative impact on a free press in the future?
