- The City of Roswell is presenting an Asian American Pacific Islander art exhibit titled, “Hua Yuan: AAPI Artists in Bloom." The exhibit opened on Monday, Aug. 7, and "celebrates the culture, heritage and artistic contributions of the AAPI community.” Techert and Corinne Sutherlin are the co-curators for this exposition and their goal is to have viewers come to a "cross-cultural understanding" and to hail the contributions of the AAPI community. Tiffany Chau and Nicole Kang Ahn are two of the exhibit's featured artists. A reception and artist talk is planned to take place at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center on Aug. 18 beginning at 6 p.m. (Newsbreak)
- The city is putting on a free outdoor day of fun for dog lovers and their canine companions. The “Doggy Daze of Summer” will be held at East Roswell Park on Saturday, Sept. 9. There will be many special interactive activities planned specifically for your canine friends. The "Doggy Daze of Summer" will also feature a pet adoption drive, a pet vendor village, a meet & greet with K9 Goose from the Roswell PD, food trucks, and live entertainment. Vendors who offer dog-related products or services can sign-up to participate in this dog-lovers celebration by Sept. 4. (The Georgia Sun)
- The former Roswell Hornet, Anthonie Knapp, is already making a name for himself at the University of Note Dame. Knapp is a 2023 graduate of Roswell High School and made his commitment to the Fighting Irish on March 29. Knapp has already become a top priority for Joe Rudolph, the university's offensive line coach. During this summer's off-season, Knapp worked to increase his strength and speed. His impressive senior year at Roswell High has fans interested to see how he'll perform at Note Dame. Knapp scores high on the On3 football recruiting ranking. Knapp is currently ranked as a four-star recruit and is the No. 184 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class. (Newsbreak)

- Roswell Police Department: The Roswell 911 telecommunications team will host a talk for kids at the police department on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. This forum will help children from ages 5 to 10, understand what 911 is for and how the emergency number should be used. The public safety department will also provide snacks, and a fire safety truck and police cruiser will also be onsite. You must register to attend this event by Aug. 11. or until all available spots are filled. (Roswell Police Department via Facebook)

- Marketing & Communications Manager Tiffani Armstead, City of Roswell: The Georgia Ensemble Theatre's hit musical, "Almost Heaven: John Denver's America" is coming to the Cultural Arts Center on Friday, Aug. 25. The show will run until that Sunday, Aug. 27. In this performance, five actors will sing and act out the events that shaped John Denver's life and career. Discount ticket prices are available for seniors, first responders, the military, and students. (Nextdoor)
- Roswell Inc: Roswell's Summer Sippin' event is almost over. There is still time, however, to vote for your favorite summertime refresher. - Roswell Arts Fund: The Roswell Arts Fund is still in need of vendors to display their creations and goods at the Artist Market during the 3rd Annual Beaucoup Jazz + Blues Festival.
