- The Roswell City Council’s held its open forum last week, and residents were not reluctant to share their opinions about the Canton Street Promenade project and the denied request for adding sidewalks along the road where two elderly women were hit by a car in April. Some residents expressed that the city's approach to the Canton Street proposal is "dividing the community." David Johnson, a resident from the Willow Springs community, beseeched the city to approve their community's request to build sidewalks along Roxburgh Drive. Mayor Kurt Wilson was on vacation last week and was not in attendance at the open forum. (Newsbreak)
- The second location of downtown's Standard at Roswell will open in Alpharetta's City Center later this year. The owners say their new location will still showcase their variety of specialty pizzas, and will still serve popular menu favorites. The Standards new location will also offer the same selection of craft, local, and imported beers that the Roswell patrons love. Live music will be performed during their lunch and dinner services. The new Alpharetta location will however, offer a specified late-night food menu. (MSN)
- More antisemitic flyers have turned up in neighboring Alpharetta over the weekend. Alpharetta's mayor, Jim Gilvin, said that he’s “disturbed and deeply disappointed” by these flyers with racist and antisemitic messages." The city is looking for those responsible. Residents in Alpharetta are frightened and saddened by these divisive messages being distributed throughout the North Fulton Community. (WSB-TV)
