Conversion Lab, $750K Worth Of Drugs Found In Roswell Apartment: Cops
Roswell Police say a local apartment, where both crystal and liquid methamphetamine were found, was being used as a drug conversion lab.
ROSWELL, GA — A drug conversion lab and drugs totaling at least $750,000 were recently uncovered in an Old Holcomb Bridge Way apartment, Roswell Police said.
Police on Tuesday said more than 15 kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine were seized during a joint probe from Roswell officers, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations. Two people were arrested in connection with the case, police said.
The investigation began when Customs officers on Aug. 2 intercepted a package containing almost 8 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine, police said. The package was being delivered from Mexico to the Old Holcomb Bridge apartment in Roswell, police said.

Five days later, police said detectives conducted a "controlled delivery of the package." Detectives surveilling the property saw a resident accept the delivery, and once the package was taken into the home, police said a team immediately served a search warrant.
Police did not identify the contents of the delivered package.

During the search, police said "a sophisticated drug operation" was revealed. The delivered package, at least six bottles of liquid methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine with a street value of more than $750,000 were located in the apartment, police said.
Officers also found drug packaging, ledgers, multiple cell phones, digital scales and at least $10,000 in cash - materials police said were used for trafficking.
"A key discovery was several bottles of a specific chemical agent commonly used to convert liquid methamphetamine into its crystal form, leading investigators to believe the apartment was being used as a drug conversion lab," police said in a news release.
Officers arrested Mariel Galan-Arguello and Martin Domingo on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine and were taken to the Fulton County Jail, police said.
They remained incarcerated Wednesday, Fulton County Jail records showed. Domingo was also being held for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, jail records showed.
