  1. An employee of a local business in Roswell allegedly stole over $3,000 from her employer after she was given money to deposit into the company account. The business owner told police that police the woman has lived with him and worked for him since October 2018. He reported that he gave his employee $3,315, which was to be deposited into the business' bank account. He soon discovered that the money was not deposited. He also told investigating officers that the woman had left to meet an online male friend on June 24; he was concerned about her well-being. The case is currently open and under investigation. 2. The Roswell Arts Fund (RAF) is bringing back the Beaucoup Jazz + Blues Festival for the third year in a row. The RAF coordinates the city's public art programs and are responsible for the deployment of the 2017 Public Art Masterplan. The upcoming Beaucoup Jazz + Blues Festival will be another outlet for the organization to promote the arts and culture within the city of Roswell. The festival, that will take place on Sept. 30, will be a tribute to local artists, musicians, creators, and artisans. The Roswell Arts Fund have yet to release more details about the yearly celebration. (Newsbreak)
  3. The sexual assault that occurred along the Riverwalk Trail earlier this week has shaken the community. A man who was said to be wearing dark clothing and a surgical mask forced a 19-year-old woman off of the trail after telling her he had a gun. However, it is uncertain if the assailant actually had a weapon or not. Many parkgoers did not believe that a violent crime of this nature could happen in this busy area. “Assaulted at 8 a.m. in the morning. That’s unheard of, and that’s really scary that somebody could just be out here waiting and then pop out," said Austin McLinn, a visitor who frequents the trail. The police have questioned a person of interest; however, the results of that interview have yet to be shared with the public. The Roswell Police Department is still asking for anyone with any information on the case to come forward. (WSB-TV)
