- St. David's Episcopal Church's Children's Ministry in Roswell has many upcoming community events scheduled during the month of August. There will be a special Sunday School sign-up and a backpack blessing ceremony on Aug. 6. The church will also host their "Fun in August" children's gathering on Sunday, Aug. 13 for children to meet with peers and leaders from St. David's. St. David's is also offering online registration for parents in Roswell and surrounding cities to sign their children up for their Sunday School program that begins on Aug. 20. (Newsbreak)
- A 55-year-old Marietta man was arrested after he is reported to have caused a single-vehicle wreck at the intersection of North Point Parkway and Mansell Road. He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time. Witnesses called police to report that a disabled vehicle was in the street after it hit a curb while speeding on July 1. When police arrived at the scene, they noted the smell of alcohol on the driver. A breathalyzer test was administered on site; a blood alcohol content of 0.146 was recorded. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI. He was booked into the North Fulton County Jail in Alpharetta. (Appen Media)
- Explore Georgia recently visited Roswell to report on its Contemporary American culinary scene. Four of downtown Roswell's top restaurants and their unique menus received special recognition. Vin 25, Lucky's Burger & Brew, the Salt Factory Pub, and The Mill Kitchen and Bar were all highlighted for their atmosphere and food. Locals are encouraged to pay these Contemporary American establishments a visit to have a top dining experience for yourself. Roswell continues to be the "talk of the town" throughout Metro Atlanta. - Nextdoor Neighbor, Aspens: Atlanta Symphony cellist, Danielle Wilson, will be performing at the next Roswell Music Club on Sunday, Aug. 20. Tickets are still available for purchase on the Roswell Music Club's website. (Nextdoor)
- The Children’s Development Academy (CDA): Roswell Dance Starz, along with some special guest performers, will be performing at the Bill Johnson Community Activities Building. - Communications Manager Karen Zitomer, City of Roswell: There will be a specially called Mayor and City Council meeting on Monday, Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public and will focus on the "Approval of a Resolution" for the adjournment of a Special Election to fill the unexpired term for the Post 4 seat on the council in conjunction with the 2023 General Municipal Election. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the City of Roswell's website, Facebook, and YouTube pages. (Nextdoor)
