  1. Houck's Grille on Crabapple Road is rebranding, and will become Coastal Bar, Grill & Chill in September. Houck's Grille has upheld a good reputation in the community. In a press release, Jerome Stuart, the operations director of Coastal Bar, Grill & Chill said, “Coastal aims to build upon this legacy by introducing new culinary creations while paying homage to Houck’s classics." The founder of the restaurant, Carolyn Bradfield, believes it was time for a refresh. The new brand will still have live music and Tuesday night trivia. 2. The seven members of the Canton Street Task Force attended the Mayor and City Council workshop on Friday morning. The groups agreed that more information needs to be obtained in order to gain the most knowledge possible on how closing Canton Street would affect local businesses and the community as a whole. The city will now hire an analyst before they come to a decision about the proposed project. The city wants to continue with their plan to close Canton Street to vehicles from Elizabeth Way to Webb Street during the period from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. (WSB-TV)
  3. Roswell's Fellowship Christian School recently went up against and defeated nearby Mount Pisgah Christian School. The two football teams played each other at the Corky Kell-Dave Hunter Classic on Aug. 18. The game was the season opener for both teams. The Paladins defeated the Patriots with a 38-3 win. This was also the first game the team played under its new coach, John Thompson. There were many highlights during the game including a 92-yard touchdown run and several interceptions.
