- The Roswell Police Department received a report that a man and woman were being attacked on Holcomb Bridge Road on June 17. Three individuals were on the scene when officers arrived, one of which, tried to subsequently leave on a bicycle. Police, however, were able to catch up to him and determined that he was from Norcross. The couple blamed the cyclist for taking their electronics; the cyclist told police the couple were withholding some of his belongings. The Norcross man was also said to have sprayed the other man with isopropyl alcohol and proceeded to try to set him on fire. After hearing all sides of the story, Roswell officers arrested the Norcross man and charged him with armed robbery and assault. (Appen Media)
- Beth Wheeler, a representative from the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA), announced in a press release on Friday, that the section of the Chattahoochee River from the Chattahoochee Nature Center to Powers Island will remain closed. The group in in the process of gathering data to determine any causes of the "noncompliance with the facility’s permit from the state agency." - On June 17, a structure fire was started on a woman's doorstep at a residence on Jasmine Parkway in Roswell. The Roswell Fire Department was able to extinguish the small fire. The woman told firefighters and police that she had observed an individual on her security camera flee the scene that appeared to be her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend. An accelerant that had been used to start the fire could be smelled in the air. The victim's doormat was burned, and scorch marks noted on her front door and doorframe. Police also collected biological evidence at the scene that was submitted as evidence. No arrests have been made at this time and the arson case is still under investigation. (Appen Media)
