- USA Today's 10 Best was recently on the hunt to find the brewpubs in the nation that specialize in the best craft beer and handheld food. The competition's main requirements were that establishments must sell their own house beers with guest taps or cans, and they must also offer a variety of food options. The From the Earth Brewing Company, located off of Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell ranked second on the Top 10 list. From the Earth is unique among other brewpubs, as if offers farm-to-table craft beers. A representative from USA Today's 10Best said that “The brewpub’s commitment to sourcing as freshly and as locally as possible shines through." Co-owner Tim Stevens said the establishment also partners with local food providers by giving them their spent grain from the brewing process to local farmers. (Kicks 99)
- Khadija Bronson is the owner of the Spoiled Rotten Kids Spa Partybus. She travels around the metro area giving makeovers to children between the ages of 2 - 13. She was recently outside of a business on Crabapple Road providing manicures, pedicures, facials, and make-up to her juvenile clients. The furniture and supplies on the mobile bus are sized to fit children. “I just wanted to do something that was more kid-friendly, like something on their level — not too grown,” Bronson said. Her business has even been featured on "The Tyra Banks Show” when it began in 2008. Bronson also specializes in children birthday parties. (Appen Media)
- The City of Roswell and Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens are partnering with Trane Residential to install two Trane Heat Pump systems at Mimosa Hall. This improvement will be one of the steps taken to achieve net-zero certification. The new systems will also help Mimosa Hall decrease its carbon emissions and maintain the "integrity of the house." The city has been working since 2017 to make the historic site more energy efficient. Mayor Kurt Wilson said that he is grateful that Trane Residential donated these electric heat pumps to the city and the Friends of Mimosa Hall & Gardens. (achrnews)
