- A Roswell man was driving on Old Alabama Road on June 25 when another driver allegedly threw a lit firework at his vehicle. He reported the incident to police. The victim of the incident stated that the firework hit the hood of his car before it exploded in vibrant colors near the side of the car. The perpetrator was located by police and was found to be a resident of Alabama. He told officers that "people in Alabama throw fireworks from vehicles for fun all the time.” He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Alpharetta Jail. (Appen Media)
- Mayor Kurt Wilson and the City Council have chosen the seven members that will make up the Canton Street Promenade Task Force. The team will be comprised of a police officer, two residents, and four local proprietors. The city said the task force's aim is to "maximize the benefits and mitigate the negative impacts of a trial closure of Canton Street." The newly appointed force is to make their first complete recommendation to Mayor Kurt Wilson and the council in 45 days. (WSB-TV)
- Roswell's warrant amnesty period will continue throughout the month of July. Roswell Municipal Court is extending this amnesty to those who come to the court to pay outstanding fines and clear arrest warrants. Furthermore, individuals who received warrants after not appearing in court or paying fines for city-based traffic violations, ordinance violations, and some select state charges will be offered this forgiveness. Any phone calls one may receive regarding this program are part of a scam. Individuals with ineligible criminal charges may still be arrested. (Appen Media)
