  1. The public commenting period is open for feedback and comments from Roswell citizens regarding the City of Roswell's Consolidated Plan Amendment. This amendment is in conjunction with the Roswell's 2018 Citizen Participation Plan (CPP) and will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This amendment involves the redistribution of $80,362.65 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the Roswell Housing Authority for the redevelopment of the Grove Way community. The comment period will be open for 30 days. Electronic and hard copies of drafts of the documents in question are available for the public's review. Residents can visit the City of Roswell's website for more information and for instructions on how to submit your feedback. (Facebook)
  2. A former Alpharetta police officer, Michael James Esposito, has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and violating his oath as a public officer in connection to the 2021 police K-9 injury of Travis Moya. The charges come after a Fulton County grand jury issued an indictment against the former policeman on Tuesday, May 23. Police responded to the Moya home in July of 2021 after the family called 911 for an ambulance and did not express that Travis Moya was violent, had a weapon, or that he had committed an offense. According to officers, Moya did not respond to their request to talk to him; he was wrestled to the ground after Moya walked away from them. Moya was then attacked and bitten by a police K-9 at the direction of former Officer Esposito, the dog's handler. Moya filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Alpharetta, the police chief and several officers; that suit is currently pending. Alpharetta’s assistant city administrator has not commented on the recent indictment. (Appen Media)
  3. This past school year was an accomplished year in regards to high school sports. Three of the city's high school sports teams competed in their respective State Championships. Fellowship Christian School, Blessed Trinity Christian High School, and Roswell High School teams were competitors at the 2023 GHSA State Championships. These teams were recognized at this week's Mayor and Council meeting. These teams were not just mentioned for their athletic achievements, they were also received high accolades and were given a key to the city from the mayor and city council. (Facebook)
