Here are the top stories in Roswell today:
- Roswell's Italian restaurant ZuZZu was recently acquired by Luigi Tartaglione, the owner of the popular eateries Italia Mediterranean Grill and Mezza Luna. Tartaglione said that he will keep the restaurant's name and brand, however, he will change some items on the menu. The previous owner of ZuZZu's menu was based on traditional Sicilian recipes and flavors; the new menu will incorporate more Roman traditional foods. “I’ll change the recipe for tiramisu because it’s more authentic, more classic. And I want to introduce two or three classic Rome dishes” says Tartaglione. The new owner plans to keep this popular restaurant a favorite among locals. (What's Now Atlanta)
- Roswell residents who live in the Willow Brook subdivision off of Warsaw Road are worried that an issue with a 15-foot sinkhole in their community will only get worse. Residents in the neighborhood fear that constant heavy rains, the nearby creek that's overflowing, and a rusty pipe will cause a road to collapse. This quiet and quaint community has only two streets. Most residents have been living there for over 20 years and are on a fixed income. The former president of the homeowner's association says that repairs to the stormwater system are too expensive. Neighbors believe that the cause is from new developments and rainwater flowing into their subdivision from Warsaw Road; they want the city's help with rectifying this situation. (newsbreak)
- $8,500 was stolen from the iThink Financial credit union that's located on Mansell Road, near the border of Roswell and Alpharetta. The theft occurred on April 26 when a woman entered the credit union and gave the tellers a license and an account number; she asked to withdraw $8,500 for a downpayment on a vehicle. The identification given matched the account number that was shared, and the tellers processed the transaction. The individual was given cash. It was later discovered that the correct customer was not the woman who made the withdrawal and soon realized they were defrauded. The case is under investigation, and police have yet to identify the thief. (Appen Media)
