Son Fatally Shoots Dad After Dispute Escalates In Roswell: Police

Roswell Police say a father and son engaged in a dispute that led to the shooting death of the father.

ROSWELL, GA — A man is accused of fatally shooting his 56-year-old father Thursday at a Rosemont Parkway apartment.

Roswell Police on Friday said they arrested Tristan Dinnall, 29, in connection with the shooting that killed his father, Gary Clark.

The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. When officers arrived, police said they found Clark dead inside the apartment with apparent gunshot wounds.

While officers were heading to the scene, police said a family member who saw the shooting notified them of Dinnall's description and that of the car in which he left the scene.

An officer was able to track the car within minutes and detain Dinnall without incident during a traffic stop, police said.

The deadly shooting stemmed from a dispute between the father and son, police said. Sometime during the shooting, police accused Dinnall of retrieving a handgun and shooting Clark before fleeing.

Dinnall was arrested on charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and was taken to the Fulton County Jail, police said.

"It appears that this was an isolated domestic-related act of violence, with no additional suspects at large," police said in a news release.
