Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. A Georgia State Patrol chase resulted in a 3-vehicle crash on Savannah's Ogeechee Road. The suspect died during the crash and the 2 other vehicles' occupants sustained minor injuries. The incident shut down the road on both northbound and southbound lanes, but officials were able to reopen the road shortly after. (fox28media.com)
  2. Chatham County has opened its small business grant program. The one-time COVID-19 relief grants total $1.3 million through the federal American Rescue Plan Act. The grants will be distributed through a first-come, first-served model. Click to apply for one of the grants. (WTOC)
  3. A Super PAC supporting Herschel Walker gave out free gas at Savannah's Chevron Station yesterday. The giveaway was meant to highlight record-high inflation and crippling gas prices. Customers at Abercorn Street's gas station were given $25 gas vouchers when purchasing gas. (WSAV-TV)
