Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- Savannah's Anthony Franzel Hamilton is facing a sentence of life in prison for pleading guilty to an armed robbery spree. The 60-year-old Savannah resident pled guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. He reportedly robbed six convenience stores within 18 hours on Nov. 22, 2020. (WSAV-TV)
- As of Thursday evening, the Savannah Police Department is still searching for a missing 14-year-old boy. According to the department, Dezreon Roy, a 5' 8" male weighing approximately 140 pounds, went missing on Aug. 5. He was last seen in the 6000 block of Damascus Road wearing a gray Nike hoodie, light jeans, white Air Force Ones, and a military camp bookbag. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department immediately. (WJCL News Savannah)
- 100 Black Men of Savannah are performing "Broken Wings" at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. The play, which will be performed at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center's Ben Tucker Theater, is part of the organization's mentoring program for the area's youth. Click to secure your tickets. (WSAV-TV)
