Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

1. The Chatham County Fire Department pulled Civil War-era cannon balls out of one of the county's riverways. The cannon balls were located near a boat ramp off Ogeechee Road on Tuesday evening. The department's assistance was requested after a group of treasure hunters pulled the cannon balls from the waterway using a strong magnet. (WTOC)
2. The Savannah Police Department's Specialized Units will be conducting a training exercise downtown today, Jun. 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be signs alerting residents to the training exercise at Club 51 Degrees. The department is conducting the training exercise to ensure its preparedness in a variety of different scenarios. (Press Release Desk)
