Savannah woman brings year-round African dance and Kwanzaa principles to community (wtoc.com) — Savannah residents can now join year-round African dance and Kwanzaa-inspired programs led by local instructor Imani Poole at the Delaware Center. Through her Kwanzaa 365 Connection, she offers weekly dance and wellness classes, mentorship for youth and adults, and an annual Kwanzaa celebration, all aimed at building cultural pride, community support, and everyday connection to African American heritage.

Savannah police respond to man who has been in tree for several hours (savannahnow.com) — Police and fire crews spent Monday morning trying to safely coax a shoeless, shirtless man down from a tall tree in Savannah’s south historic district after neighbors reported an at-risk individual moving across rooftops and yards. Behavioral health and homeless outreach officers are on scene, and responders say the situation remains active as they work to resolve it without injury.

Savannah Forsyth Park acid attack victim undergoes another round of surgery (wjcl.com) — A Savannah woman badly burned in an acid attack near Forsyth Park is recovering from extensive skin graft surgery while investigators still search for the man who assaulted her. Savannah Police, the FBI, and ATF are seeking home security video from the park’s west side, as community leaders and local businesses boost rewards and call for vigilance and unity.
   

4. Savannah Mayor responds to Frazier Homes shooting (wtoc.com) — Savannah Mayor Van Johnson is urging residents to share any information they have about Sunday night’s fatal shooting in the Frazier Homes community, stressing anonymous tips are welcome through Savannah Police and CrimeStoppers. He offers condolences to the victim’s family, calls the violence “senseless,” and asks neighbors to unite around nonviolent solutions and community-based safety efforts across Savannah.
   

5. Georgia marinas earn clean marina certifications (boatingindustry.com) — Two local marinas, including Safe Harbor Savannah Yacht Center, have earned Georgia Clean Marina certifications for adopting practices that cut water pollution from daily operations. Located in Savannah and Richmond Hill, the facilities were evaluated on fueling, boat washing, and emergency preparedness as part of a statewide coastal environmental initiative relaunched in 2023.
