- The City of Savannah reports that its search for a new Savannah Police Department chief will focus on community engagement. The city plans to launch a public engagement process to determine the next chief hire. There will be focus groups and surveys to collect community input. The process is expected to be completed by this December. (Savannah Tribune)
- Savannah Impact Program will be operating out of a new home office. The program was restarted last year after a six-year hiatus. The program is meant to provide support to individuals in at-risk categories such as individuals leaving the prison system. The new office will likely be completed this fall. (WTOC)
- Savannah businesses report an increase in job applicants. The businesses report that the increase is mostly due to younger individuals applying for open positions. The increase is not evenly felt by all Savannah businesses, however. Some industries are struggling to fully staff operations since students are returning to the classroom. (WTOC)
