Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. The Savannah Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying suspects in an ongoing violent crimes investigation. According to the department, gas station surveillance cameras captured footage of the four individuals, which can be viewed on WJCL. They are described as two young Black females, a young Black male, and a young light-skinned male.   2. Local nonprofit Elevate Savannah is expanding into DeRenne Middle School. The nonprofit's mission is to create long-term life-changing relationships with the city's youth through a student mentor program. The program is being implemented at all levels of the Savannah-Chatham County Schools District. (Savannah Tribune)
  3. Savannah residents are speaking out about a vacant home that is causing issues for a local neighborhood. The residence located at 221 W. 36th St. is reportedly a hotspot for illegal activity. The concerned neighbors have been reassured that the police department has added additional patrols to the area for safety. The city is working to secure the property.
