Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. Forsyth Farmers' market in Savannah will be hosting a special celebration today for national farmers' market week. The event will be between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The theme is "farmers markets don't just happen." Over 40 vendors will be participating, and everyone is invited to attend. (WSAV-TV)
  2. Chatham County has begun to discuss severance terms with its suspended county manager. Lee Smith has been serving a suspension since July. He was suspended with pay. The cause of the suspension is unknown. County Attorney Hart reports that the records surrounding the suspension cannot be released. (WTOC)
  3. The City of Savannah has voted to appoint a new assistant city attorney. The new position will be focused on violent crimes. The approval was given through a 6-3 vote with the U.S. Attorney's Office. Hopefully, the new position will allow the southern District to take more cases. (fox28media.com)
