Here are the top 3 stories in Savannah today:

  1. Luxe The Salon in Savannah reopened today with the help of Hyundai's Progress Project grant. In December, owner Lateeka Moore-Early recieved a $15,000 grant from the project to help with repairs. Progress Projects aims to support Black-owned businesses, and Moore-Early was one of three recent recipients. (WSAV-TV)
  2. George F. Schwarz III will serve as the grand marshal for Savannah's St. Patrick's Day Parade. He has been a member of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee for 40 years, and his family has participated in its organization for generations. In its 199th year, the event is one of the largest in the country. (WTOC)
  3. Across the bridge at Tybee Island, parking rate increases go into effect Mar. 1. Hourly parking will go from$3.50 to $4, and annual and transferable passes will go up $50 each to $250 and $350, respectively. Representatives indicate that the price increases are meant to support infrastructure with the increased number of visitors and address the parking shortage. (Savannah Morning News)

  • Saturday, Mar. 4 is Georgia Beer Day, and Service Brewing and Two Tides Brewing Co. are celebrating! Proceeds from Beer Day benefit the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild and its member breweries.
