Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- On Wednesday, May 17, Hilton Head Regional Healthcare will be holding a career fair in Savannah at Ardsley Station. The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Healthcare leaders within the area will be conducting on-the-spot interviews for RN, LPN, nursing assistant, and allied health positions. Hilton Head Regional Healthcare will be specifically hiring for multiple positions at Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospitals. (WSAV)
- The Downtown Neighborhood Association of Savannah (DNA) recently announced the recipients of their 2023 Community Partner Grant Program. The funding is meant to support initiatives like distributing food, offering aid to those in need, financial educational opportunities, sports programs for youths, tackling domestic violence, and promoting the preservation of Savannah's cultural heritage. Awarding around $55,400 collectively, some of the organizations receiving funding include Bike Walk Savannah, Savannah Repertory Theatre, Thomas Park Food Pantry, and so many more. (Savannah CEO)
- Two McDonald's restaurants in Savannah are inviting the public to enjoy a cup of coffee while engaging and connecting with local law enforcement. This initiative is part of a larger movement throughout Southern Georgia and Central Florida that's designed to foster more positive relationships with various police officers in the community. All attendees will receive a free small hot or iced coffee courtesy of McDonald's and the event is set to take place on Friday, May 19. (Connect Savannah)

- Around the corner in Tybee Island, Sundae Cafe at Tybee will be featured on an upcoming episode of Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." The description indicates that another Savannah restaurant will also be featured in the episode, which is scheduled to air this upcoming Friday, May 19, at 9:00 p.m. on the Food Network Channel. - According to the National Weather Service, wet weather and a cold front are on the forecast for Savannah and surrounding areas this week. There seems to be relatively high chances of showers throughout the middle of this week with some areas potentially picking up close to one inch of rain. The weather is looking mostly dry by the end of the week, but there will still be a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms heading into the weekend. (WJCL)
- On Saturday, May 20, the Savannah African Art Museum will be hosting world-renowned jazz trombonist Teddy Adams and his sextet of talented local artists for a free concert. The concert is titled "African Rhythms to American Treasures: Celebrating The African Roots of Jazz" and will focus on showcasing the many beautiful sounds of African-inspired jazz music.
