  1. A trust fund established to preserve historic Black churches in the U.S. recently released a list of churches that would receive a portion of its $4 million financial grant money. Grantees included the First Bryan Baptist Church in Savannah, one of the oldest Black churches in the country. (Subscription: Fortune)
  2. A seminar on Tuesday aimed to prepare the community in and around Savannah for South Korean families moving into the area to work at the Hyundai plant. The seminar was hosted by multiple community organizations, including the Savannah Joint Development Authority and World Trade Center Savannah, to discuss ways the community can help families adjust.   3. A woman who attempted to help a driver in a crash in Chatham County spoke about her difficulties contacting 911 to respond to the accident. Stephanie Lange said she and other motorists stopped to help the driver of an SUV involved in the crash, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. While trying to help the driver, Lange said she had to call 911 multiple times to get an answer, only to be transferred from Ft. Stewart’s 911 call center to Chatham County. (WTOC)
