- On Tuesday, Chatham County Commission Chairman Chester Ellis signed the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) agreement. The signing comes after weeks of discussing the deal with the purpose of the tax aiding in being an income source to support other budgets and keep property taxes across the county down. Ellis' signing came after new Chatham County will be included in the congressional budget — the first time in history. (WSAV-TV)
- A security video shows the crash which killed an escaped inmate in Chatham County on Monday evening. Georgia State Patrol tried to pull over a man speeding on a motorcycle which led to a chase that ended in a fatal crash on Ogeechee Road when the man hit the back of a Kia. The man had not been identified as of Tuesday evening. (WTOC)
- A murder-suicide on Friday resulted in two people dead and another injured at the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. The shooting occurred around 11:00 p.m. Officers responded and found 29-year-old Ebony Drayton suffering from life-threatening injuries who was apparently shot by her child's father, Devante Daniels, 30. Drayton died from her injuries and Daniels was located with a self-inflicted gunshot at another location and was deceased. Anthony Jackson, 27, was also shot at the residence with Drayton but survived. (WTOC)
