Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- The Savannah Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a man who stole almost $1,000 in liquor. On Nov. 30, the suspect was caught on camera grabbing things from a storage area at The Clyde Market. Authorities released surveillance footage of the subject on Wednesday in the hopes that someone will recognize him. The suspect took nine bottles of Hennessy, five bottles of Crown Apple, four bottles of Woodford Reserve, and two cases of 24-pack beer. (WJCL News Savannah)
- An elderly Savannah woman is pushing back against a solar company she says ripped her off. Sarah Durham, 72, claims she was misled by the man who sold her the solar panels on her home at East Duffy Street. After signing a contract for the panels, Durham was left with a $30,000 bill. She hopes her fight will warn other from being tricked in the same way. Titan Solar, the company that sold her the panels, has so far refused to help her. (WTOC)
- A motel shooting on Wednesday night left one person in the hospital. The Savannah Police Department responded to the shooting at the Deluxe Inn Motel around 8:00 p.m. The motel is located in the 3600 block Ogeechee Road. The shooting victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. (WJCL News Savannah)
