Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- Savannah is coming to a family game night near you. The Hostess City will be featured in an upcoming edition of Monopoly set to be released to the public sometime in November. The game makers are looking for local input on which city landmarks should be included in the game board. More information about the game will be released soon. (WTOC)
- Willy Wonka surprised Memorial Day School students in Savannah thanks to first-grade teacher Miss Helmly. Wonka even accepted the students' golden tickets to enter the "factory" with candy. The teacher said she wanted to transform her classroom for her first-grade students who are currently reading Roald Dahl's, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." (WJCL News Savannah)
- Savannah-Chatham Schools have opened applications for their Pre-K lottery system, which will run until Friday, Feb. 24. The limited space for 4-year-olds – 1,400 available spots across district schools – is only slightly increased from last year. Upon approval of an application, children will be entered into the lottery system, with priority given to zone schools. (WTOC)
